Arborcare was established in 1981 to serve the Western Slope with tree care. Started by former San Antonio City Forester, Jon Harrington, Arborcare concentrated on Pine Beetle Control through preventive spraying and infested tree removal. As the early '80's pine beetle epidemic subsided, the company evolved into Alpine Gardens that included tree planting and landscaping services. Alpine Gardens now operates with a full, year round nursery and garden center in Silverthorne, CO. A tree farm north of Silverthorne supplies trees to the nursery. The Arborcare Division was renamed Alpine Logging in 2008. We continue to provide logging and residential tree removal services.
We are licensed, insured and experienced in difficult tree removals. We operate two portable sawmills to utilize the beetle infested trees to the best use possible. We avoid whole tree chipping where possible to reduce the unwanted quantity of chips the landfill has to contend with.
